iTero Element® Scanner for Digital Impressions

As soon as you step into our San Antonio office, it’s our goal to make your experience as comfortable, convenient and efficient for you as possible. That’s why Dr. Senties uses the iTero Element Scanner to take digital impressions.

No Goop, No Mess, No Putty Necessary

The iTero scanner is a state-of-the-art, advanced digital scanning system that eliminates the need for messy putty! (If you’ve experienced traditional putty impressions, you know how exciting this is.)

With the iTero Element Scanner, Dr. Senties can take a digital, 3D model of the inside and outside surfaces of your teeth and gums. This system is much faster than traditional methods and creates images that are more accurate, detailed and precise than traditional methods.

How We Use the iTero Scanner

To accurately capture an image of the inside of your mouth, Dr. Senties and his team will scan your teeth and gums, using the iTero intraoral scanner wand. The wand is designed to fit comfortably in your mouth; you can breathe and swallow as normal. The handheld scanner will then produce a 3D model of your mouth that we can use to create your treatment plan with any type of appliance. If you choose Invisalign, we can show you a simulation of how your smile will look at the end of your treatment with the Invisalign® Outcome Simulator! Digital X-Rays

We use digital X-ray technology! Here’s how it works: When Dr. Senties takes an X-ray of your smile, there’s a sensor that transfers the X-ray image to our computers instantly. We don’t have to go through film or use any chemicals to create the X-ray.

Digital X-rays use less radiation to produce high-quality photos; in fact, they emit 70% less exposure than traditional X-rays! These advanced technology X-rays are also more comfortable for our patients. We simply place a sensor inside of the mouth to generate an X-ray, instead of inserting an uncomfortable plate into the mouth and applying a lead bib, as traditional X-rays require.

Digital Patient Charts

We store and handle our patients’ treatment notes, medical history and information electronically through digital patient charts, as opposed to written paper charts. Digital patient charters, also called Electronic Health Records (EHR) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR), eliminate the risks of misplacing important patient information or information being accessed by unauthorized people. EHRs can save time during your visits; they’re eco-friendly, secure and easier to interpret than handwritten records, which means minimal inaccuracies!
