If you choose traditional braces, we can place braces on your very first visit. Or if you choose a custom treatment, we can take your smile scans to begin the process on your first visit.

Can I get braces the same day as my consultation?

Yes! If you choose metal braces or clear braces, we can place your braces at your very first appointment, as long as your smile is healthy and ready.

If you choose custom LightForce braces or clear aligners, your same day start means we’ll take a digital scan and submit your case for your personalized brackets or aligners to be designed and 3D printed. 

At your next visit, we’ll place your custom braces or hand you your first set of clear aligners.

Here’s how to prepare for your first visit:

1. Receive a cleaning from your dentist within the last 6 months.

2. Bring your insurance information and preferred payment method.

3. Book your complimentary consultation easily online and let us know you’re interested in a Same Day Start.

As long as your smile is ready, we can either place traditional braces that day or get your custom treatment underway with a scan.

What to Expect at Your Orthodontist Consultation

At your first visit, you’ll meet with your experienced San Antonio orthodontist, Dr. Senties! We’ll complete a thorough exam, complimentary x-rays, and any needed digital scans or photos.

Then, we’ll review your treatment options and help you decide what’s right for you.

If you’re starting with traditional braces, we can place them that day. If you’re choosing LightForce or clear aligners, your same day scan gets the process started right away.

Not necessarily. Before placing braces, I need to make sure your teeth, gums, and overall oral health are ready for orthodontic treatment. During your complimentary exam, I’ll evaluate your smile and bite and let you know whether you’re a good candidate to begin treatment that day. A Same Day Start does not mean you’re paying extra simply because you begin treatment sooner. The cost of orthodontic treatment depends on factors such as the type of appliance you choose and the complexity of your treatment. Before you begin, our team will review your treatment cost, insurance benefits, and available payment options so you understand your financial commitment.

Having braces placed is generally not painful, although your teeth may feel tender or sensitive for a few days afterward as they begin responding to orthodontic forces. I’ll explain what to expect and how to stay comfortable during those first few days. Most patients find that any initial discomfort is temporary and manageable.
